2020 Audi RS6 Avant

Station wagons are a rare breed nowadays, thanks to the dreaded minivan, these practical cars with huge trunks are not something you see every day. But if you look hard enough, you can find these rare offerings by some of the European carmakers.

Audi makes quite a few variants of their cars into wagons, but not all are available in Canada/USA, however their latest high-performance wagon will be available in the USA, which means it will most likely make it to the Canadian market too.

Audi just unveiled the 2020 RS 6 Avant (fancy way of saying wagon, which is a fancy way of saying station wagon), which comes with enough power to put it in supercar territory. The 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 592 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all-four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) and ????
a 0 – 62 mph sprint time of 3.6 seconds.

The 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant has quite an aggressive look to it, especially at the front with massive air intakes at the corners and a huge grill in the middle. A bit too much for my taste. The rest of the car is quite elegant with sharp lines and bulging fender flares. The rear is pretty clean, with the exception of an aluminum piece that sticks out like a sore thumb.

The interior is nicely appointed with luxurious leather seats and multiple screens for displaying various information. There’s a 12.3” screen behind the steering wheel replacing traditional gauges, a 10.1” touchscreen for the infotainment system (which is found on most cars) and an 8.6” screen below that for the climate control system. If you don’t like fingerprints, this thing is your worst nightmare come true… personally I like it.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
