The 2012 Porsche 911 is set to see a lot changes to design of the iconic sports car, although I think it’s still going to look the same but different.  The 2012 Porsche 911 will be called 991 and will be 2.2 inches longer and feature a roof line that’s ½ inch lower.

According to German publication, Auto Bild, the base 2012 Porsche 991 will be powered by a 3.4 liter boxer engine that will produce 345 horsepower and reach 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.  The Carrera S will be powered by a 3.8 liter engine with 395 hp and will reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, the S will get the familiar wide body (big-booty); the flares will be 2.4 inches wider.  I’m looking forward to seeing the numbers on the Porsche 991 Turbo, GT2, and GT3 models.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
