Carmakers release “special edition” cars quite often, some of them are available in most countries while others are for specific markets. BMW has just announced a Canada-only special edition of the M8, called the BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur, quite the mouthful. I’m not sure why this model is specific to Canada, as BMW didn’t provide any information on that; the car is limited to 20 units only.
10 of the cars will be finished in “Frozen Black” and 10 in “Fire Red” paint. The cars benefit from a few added carbon fiber parts to the following parts of the car: “kidney grill”, air intake surround on the lower bumper, side skirts, rear lip spoiler and diffuser. The interior features “BMW Individual Manufaktur” inscribed on the carbon fiber cupholder and wireless phone charging cover. The seats are covered with black and Shakir orange Merino leather with Shakir orange stitching. The same color stitching is applied to other parts of the interior and Shakir orange trim can also be found on the floor mat trim.
No performance upgrades are applied to the limited-edition BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur, it’s still powered by the same turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, producing 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.
The BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur is priced at $198,000 CAD.
