The very popular and iconic Jeep Grand Cherokee once again gets the Street and Racing Technology treatment (SRT). This time it’s faster and more powerful than ever with it being capable of doing the 0-60mph in only 4.8 seconds.  The SRT8 Grand Cherokee SRT8 can also do the quarter mile in the mid 13’s. Now not very many SUV’s on the market are capable of such speed.

The all new Grand Cherokee SRT8 sports a massive 6.4 liter HEMI V8 that puts down an impressive 465 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. That’s an improvement of 45 horsepower from the previous Grand Cherokee SRT8 which sported the 6.1 liter V8. Majority of the peak torque is available between 2,800 and 6,000 rpm meaning you better be ready to get pinned back into your seat. Top speed for the sexy new Grand Cherokee is reported to be around 155 miles per hour.

The new Grand Cherokee SRT8 incorporates the Standard Fuel Saver Technology (SFST) as well as an all-new active valve exhaust system which allows the engine to run on only four cylinders over a wide rpm range resulting in better fuel mileage. Fuel economy is improved by 13 percent on the highway and the SUV now has an extended range of 450 miles on a single tank of gas. The 6.4-liter engine is mated with an automatic transmission and features paddle shifters which are mounted on the steering wheel. The vehicle also features latest technologies such as the Quadra-Trac All Wheel Drive system which allows the transfer of up to 100 percent of torque to one rear wheel when road conditions get slippery.

The exterior of the Grand Cherokee SRT8 was did not go untouched. With all that power, the SUV also has the looks to match is performance. It features a lower ride height, aggressive bodykit, side sills that match the car’s color, and a large air intake.

The interior of the SUV also features special SRT instrument panel, heated steering wheel, Nappa leather and suede upholstery, and carbon fiber trim.
