The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06X Concept car is not one of those far-fetched concept cars that have no chance of making it to production. The Z06X Track Car would most certainly be produced by General Motors as a direct-from-factory racing car. The car is a result of collaboration between GM and Pratt and Miller.
One of the first things you’ll notice on the Corvette Z06X Track Car is the massive adjustable carbon fiber rear spoiler and a polycarbonate rear window. The car rides on black 19 inch racing wheels wrapped in racing slick tires. The interior of the car is upgraded with a full roll cage, racing seats and harness, and includes a place to mount a video camera. All the creature comforts such as radio, A/C, and sound dampening have been removed from the Z06X to make it lighter.
The Corvette Z06X Track Car is powered by an LS7 7.0 liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed transmission. The car comes with an adjustable coil over suspension and Magnetic Ride Control and uses carbon ceramic brakes for added stopping power.
