World’s Most Powerful Luxury Sedan – BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800

Brabus-SV12-R-Biturbo-800The luxurious Mercedes-Benz S600 is an impressive car to begin with; it’s pretty fast and very luxurious.  But that wasn’t good enough for the guys at BRABUS, they took a perfectly good S600 and turned it into a monster, albeit a luxurious monster.

The BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 takes the stock S600 5.5 liter engine and increases its size to 6.3 liters using a special crankshaft with longer stroke, larger pistons and larger bore.  The end result is an 800 horsepower engine that rockets this luxury sedan from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and is electronically limited to a top speed of 217 miles per hour (350 km/h).  The tuned engine is able to produce a whopping 1,047 pound feet of torque (1,420 Nm) at 2,100 rpm, however, it has been limited to “only” 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) so it doesn’t tear apart the 5 speed transmission.

To cope with the added power, the suspension, wheels, brakes and aerodynamics have also been heavily modified.  The exterior modifications include a front and rear spoiler lip, larger central air inlet, and custom aluminum front fenders.  The upgraded wheels come in three different sizes from 19 to 21 inches and come in four different styles with tires from Pirelli or Yokohama.

Naturally, the interior has also been upgraded from luxurious to ultra-luxurious.  Various combination of leathers, colors, Alcantra and wood trims are available.

The multi-media system in the SV12 R uses various Apple components that have been fully integrated into the S600’s electronics, which is a first for Mercedes.

No information is available on the price of the BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 but I’m sure it’ll cost as much as a decent sized condo in a big city.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
