Video: Driving The Nurburgring In 1967

Nurburgring-BMW-Lola-Racing

Racing the Nurburgring properly in a modern day car is a tough feat, imagine how hard it was back in the day when there were on seat belts, no down force, skinny tires and all the safety equipment we’ve grown used to in modern day race cars.  You had to have big balls to race at the baddest track of ‘em all.

Below you’ll find a video of Hurbert Hane being chased around the ‘ring in a camera car; Hurbert is driving the BMW-Lola 2.0 liter 16v F2 car.  Back in the 1960’s they used to race F1 and F2 cars at the ‘ring.  Too bad they don’t do that now, it’ll make for some entertaining races if the Formula 1 calender included the Nurburgring.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
