German tuner, PPI Automotive Design, have released plans for a limited edition package for the latest Audi R8. The tuning package is called ‘Audi R8 RAZOR GTR-10’ with only ten units being produced. I can see why they are calling it the Razor because it’s one sharp looking car.
The exterior of the R8 RAZOR GTR-10 receives a massive facelift with newly designed bumpers, fenders, side sills, front and rear spoilers, and rear engine lid. The hood has also been changed along with the rear diffuser. The technicians at PPI added some impressive horsepower to the V10 engine by making adjustments to the ECU mapping and a high performance exhaust system. These changes help the vehicle achieve an increase of 83 brake horsepower bringing the total to 601 bhp at 7,400 rpm. Maximum torque of 417 pound-feet (565 Nm) at 6,400 is also achieved. To cool the engine down, a roof mounted ram-air intake system has been installed as well as a vented lift-gate glass.
The newly designed bodykit for the R8 RAZOR GTR-10 helps reduce drag and the extra vents in the body also help the brakes cool faster. The brakes on the R8 are now six-piston calipers with 15” discs in the front and 14” discs in the rear. The use of extensive carbon fiber on this car has also resulted in reducing the weight by 551 pounds (250kg) which is extremely impressive. With the added power and weight reduction, the car is able to achieve the 0-60 mph mark in the blink of an eye, the sprint takes place in only 3.2 seconds while the top speed is 209 mph.
MAG11 Forged Aluminum PPI wheels are also added to the package. 19×9 inch wheels for the front and 20×12 inch wheels for the rear which are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires. The suspension is also improved by getting the KW coilover and spring kit. PPI has rigged the suspension setup with a camber and tie rod kit with a hydraulic lift system which allows the front axle to increase the ground clearance by up to 1.7 inches.
All ten ‘PPI Audi R8 RAZOR GTR-10’ cars will come numbered with an aluminum plaque framed in carbon fiber showcasing the production number.
