The Beautiful Ferrari 458 Italia Super Car

2010-Ferrari-458-Italia

Ferrari 458 Italia is one of the hottest cars available on the market today, and no I’m not referring to the 458’s catching fire.  The Ferrari 458 Italia is the latest offering from Maranello and is the replacement for the company’s V8 powered F430.

I really liked the design of the F430 but didn’t like the air inlets on the front bumper too much, other than that little issue, I thought the F430 was an incredibly beautiful car and didn’t think Ferrari could improve on the looks and performance that car.  Boy was I ever wrong!  The brand new 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia is not only stunning but it also performs like there is no tomorrow!

Before the 458 was released, I had a look at some pictures and I wasn’t too sure if I liked the design, but seeing the car in person, I absolutely fell in love with it and it made me forget all about the F430.  The body is sculpted with beautiful curves everywhere and the car’s low height and wide stance make for an aggressive looking machine.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a mid-mounted 4.5 liter V8 engine that produces 562 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 398 pound-feet of torque (540 Nm) of torque at 6,000 rpm; 60% of the torque is available at 3,250 rpm.  The 458 Italia features direct injection, which is a first for a Ferrari mid-engined car.  All those horses are sent to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch F1-styled 7-speed transmission, a traditional manual gearbox is not offered.  The 458 Italia accelerates to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).

The Ferrari 458 Italia is an extremely impressive super car that not only looks and sounds great but it can also perform with the best of them.  I think this has to be my favourite modern-era Ferrari mid-engine car and I can’t wait ‘till the day when I get behind the wheel.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
