Toyota showed the latest version of their upcoming (and much awaited) sports car at the Geneva Motor Show. The latest rendition of the car is called “FT-86 II” and looks like a production ready model.
Toyota hasn’t released any information on the power output of the car but we do know the FT-86 will be powered by a front-mounted Subaru boxer engine that will power the rear wheels; most likely via a 6-speed transmission. The car is 167” long, 71” wide and 50” tall, which should make for a nimble and fun sports car.
Toyota’s plan was to make this an affordable sports car with great handling and good looks. I actually like the way the car looks, it’s very sporty and I can see Subaru influences in the design. The car features an aggressive front end with HID/LED lights in the front and back. The car comes with a rear diffuser which I’m guessing will be an optional piece along with the rear spoiler.
The Toyota FT-86 sports car will be available sometime next year; Toyota doesn’t know the exact time frame yet.
