Czech Republic based race team, Senkyr Motorsports unveiled their BMW 3 Series E92 GTR race car last year; their race team has now added another BMW to their line-up, this time the BMW 1 Series Coupe GTR, based on the E82 1 Series coupe.
The BMW 1 Series Coupe GTR takes many of its design cues from its bigger brother the E92 GTR. Aside from the front and rear lights, the 1 Series GTR can easily be mistaken for its bigger brother. In the front, the first thing you’ll notice is the massive front bumper with four conards (two on each side) and a big intercooler in the middle of the bumper. The hood consists of air vents to channel hot air away from the engine. The headlights have been replaced with light-weight simple units for easy replacement.
The sides of the car consist of massive fender flares in the front and the back wrapped around light-weight, deep-dish gold and polished BBS racing wheels. The wheels measure 18 x 10 inches in the front and 18 x 12 inches in the rear with Michelin 270/650-R 18 and 300/650-R 18 tires. The aggressive theme continues in the back with a wide rear-bumper and an extremely large rear spoiler, just like the E92 GTR race car.
Under the hood, the stock twin-turbo 3.0 liter in-line six engine has been modified to produce 408 horsepower, with the help of a modified intercooler and a racing exhaust system. The Senkyr Motorsports BMW E82 1 Series Coupe GTR uses 6-piston brakes in the front and 4-piston brakes in the rear for added stopping power.
