Porsche have unveiled their latest version of the 911 GT3 RSR race car, which will compete in next year’s GT Championship. Although the car gets an increase of only 5 horsepower over the previous model, Porsche says the car is better adapted to different fuel grades and is more drivable. The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR’s 4.0 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine now produces 455 horsepower at 7,800 rpm. The minor power increase comes from a tweaked engine management system, modified air intake housing, and a redesigned exhaust system.
Visually the 911 GT3 RSR gets upgraded wheels with front wheels gaining an inch in width to 12 inches wide. The front gets a new spoiler lip for higher down force and the rear wing is also upgraded for increased down force. The car gets upgraded tail lights with LED’s from the road-going Porsche 911’s.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR weighs 2,690 pounds (1,220 kilograms) and will sell for €410,000. If you just happen to have bought the 2010 version, don’t worry all the 2011 upgrades are available for the 2010 model.
