Pocket Rocket – Opel Corsa OPC Nurburgring Edition

Corsa OPC limited edition 500 available

Opel has recently released a limited edition of their hot little Corsa OPC and dubbed as the Nurburgring Edition with only 500 units being produced. Besides it being available in only limited numbers, the Corsa OPC also gets a little more power. The Nurburgring Edition Corsa OPC gets an additional 18 horsepower with the 1.6-liter turbo-charged engine going from 192 to 210 horsepower. That equals to an impressive output of 131.4 horsepower per liter.

The added power comes thanks to the remapping of the ECU, modifications to the turbochargers, and a free-flow exhaust system with decrease in back-pressure. Torque has been increased from 184.4 to 205.5 pound-feet. The Opel Corsa OPC is able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 6.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). Not bad at all for this little pocket rocket.

The OPC also features a multi-plate limited slip differential which helps reduce wheel spin during hard cornering. The ride height has been reduced thanks to the Bilstein springs and dampers. The braking department has been improved with a Brembo brake system for the front wheels. With the new configuration, other vital systems had to be adjusted to match the new characteristics of the car such as the Electronic Stability Control, ABS, and Traction Control.

The limited edition Corsa OPC Nurburgring is only available in two body colors which include “Red Henna” and “Apple Green Grasshopper”. The car also features 18-inch forged wheels in grey. To make it stand out in the crowd, a front lip spoiler, stainless steel exhaust, and Nurburgring logos have been added. In the interior department, the Corsa OPC gets Recaro sports seats which feature white stitching.

The pricing of the car in Germany is $40,150 USD

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
