Official: Audi A3 Sedan Concept

Audi officially unveiled their A3 Sedan Concept car at the Geneva Motor Show yesterday.  From the pictures, the A3 sedan looks pretty nice and we do expect it to make it as a production model.  The car presented at the show would probably be the equivalent of an RS3 sedan because of the wide body and the amount of power the concept car produces.

The Audi A3 Sedan measures 14.57 feet in length, is 6.04 feet wide, and 4.56 feet high and makes liberal use of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP).  The CFRP can be found on the 20” wheels, the front grill and air intake, rear view mirrors, and the diffuser.

The A3 Sedan concept is powered by a 2.5 liter 5-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces an impressive 408 horsepower and 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) of torque and is mated to a 7-speed S-tronic transmission.  The A3 Sedan gets to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds and can reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).  Not that we care (too much) about gas mileage, the A3 sedan does get an impressive 25.85 miles per gallon (9.1 L/100 km).

The interior of the car is the typical concept car-like with minimalist approach.  The car is equipped with four bucket seats and has an iPad holder for both rear passengers.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
