MEC Design Tuning Kit For Mercedes-Benz SLG AMG

German car tuning firm MEC Design have just released a tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.  The tuning package consists of various upgraded body parts, a new exhaust system, new wheels, suspension and springs, and minor interior upgrades; these parts can be ordered individually.

The MEC Design tuned SLS AMG gets an aggressive front bumper that can be had a few different configurations with one or two piece lip spoilers which are available in optional carbon fiber.  The rear bumper is available in USA or European versions and can be equipped with a choice of three diffusers: “Extreme”, “GT3”, or “Formula” – all three diffusers come in optional carbon fiber finish.  MEC Design also included a set of sporty side skirts that can be equipped with optional 8-LED lights under them.  Again, I think these lights are quite tacky; this is the second tuned supercar in a week that has these optional lights, let’s hope this in not a new trend.  Other visual upgrades include a rear trunk and roof-mounted spoiler and a carbon fiber hood-scoop.

The MEC Design tuned Mercedes SLS AMG can be equipped with a few choices of wheels that range in width from 9.5” to 11” at the front and 11” to 12.5” at the rear wheels while they come in 20” and 21” diameters.  To cope with the new wheels and give the car a more aggressive stance, the tuned SLS AMG gets new sporty springs and shocks.  A new sports exhaust system is also added to give the car a better sound; this might increase the horsepower by a few ponies.

The minor interior upgrades include MEC Design velour carpets and trunk covers with MEC Design logos and a few carbon fiber trim pieces for the area around the gear lever, door panels, steering wheel inserts, and shift levers behind the steering wheel.  The steering wheel is finished in leather or Alcantara.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
