Some people are hard to please and this is exactly the case with the technicians over at Wimmer RS. Apparently the stock Ariel Atom 3-300 which pumps out 300 horsepower and does the 0-60 in sub three seconds is not good enough. Considering the Ariel Atom 3 only weighs 1,034 pounds, many would consider it to be a little rocket, but not the guys at Wimmer RS.
The German tuner has introduced a new tuning kit for the Atom which consists of optimizing the ECU mapping, a high output fuel pump, overhaul of the compressor, and a new exhaust system by Rennkat. The modified 2.0 Liter engine is now able to put down 340 horsepower and 282 pound-feet (382 Nm) of torque. Remember that this vehicle weighs next to nothing! The modified Ariel Atom 3 is now able to do the 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and can hit the 125 mph marker in only 7.1 seconds. These numbers are in the crotch rocket territory.
