2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S – The Baddest German Super Car

Porsche-911-Turbo-S

This 530 horsepower beast is not to be reckoned with. The ‘S’ gives this Porsche 30 more horsepower than the regular 911 Turbo. The 2011 911 Turbo S comes with ceramic brakes, sport chrono package turbo with dynamic engine mount, and 19” center-lock light alloy wheels among many other goodies that are expected from a car of this caliber.

This car is extremely fast and the power is available almost instantly. 530 horsepower at 6,250 rpm while 516 pound-feet of torque is available only at 2,100 rpm! Talk about pushing you back in your seat. The 911 Turbo S accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds while the quarter mile is completed in a quick 10.9 seconds. Top speed for the car is at 195 miles per hour, not too bad if you ask me. If you want even more enhanced performance, it can be done with a push of a button. With the sport chrono package, one push of a button can stiffen the chassis via the active suspension, throttle response quickens, traction management sends more power to the rear wheels, and the computer switches to a hard rev limiter. Fuel economy for the car is surprisingly good for a car that is so race oriented. The Porsche 911 Turbo S manages to pull off 16-17mpg in city driving conditions while 24-25 mpg on the highway.

Expect to pay in the range of $160,050 to $171,150 for the 2011 Porsche Turbo S. Some of the rivals for the Porsche include the Aston Martin DBS, Audi R8, Lamborghini LP560-54, Ferrari F430, and Maserati Gran Turismo coupe.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
