2011 Chevrolet Camaro – The Other American Sports Car

Red-Chevrolet-Camaro-2011

Although not as handsome as the rival, Ford Mustang, the 2011 Chevy Camaro is still a head turner when you hit the parking lots. For the 2011 Camaro, Chevy has increased the horsepower to 312 horsepower for the base 3.6 liter V6 engine.

To achieve its aggressive looks, the Camaro had to make a few sacrifices which the consumer may not be so happy about. For taller people, space inside the car can be relatively tight, especially with the low roof and shorter people will feel awkward from the high belt-line. The back row of seating is only good for two small children and not much good news when it comes to the trunk either, with not much space back there for your golf clubs.

Like its competition, the Mustang, the base V6 is available in the six-speed automatic or the super-fun six-speed manual transmission which is highway rated at 29 miles per gallon. The Camaro SS with the big boy 6.2 liter V8 puts 426 horsepower with the six-speed manual while the automatic version cranks out 400 horsepower.  The SS model does the 0-60 MPH in an effortless 5.0 seconds.

With so much power, Chevy did not forget about safety for the all new Camaro. Even the base model LS comes standard with six airbags, traction control, anti-lock brakes, and dynamic stability control.

Closing Thoughts:

Styling – The 2011 Camaro is not for everyone. Although the car is modern and had classic lines, the cartoon like design is not for everybody. But that same cartoon like look is also guaranteed to turn heads everywhere it travels.

Performance: The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro offers great performance from the very powerful engine. The steering feels crisp with excellent handling and braking.

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
