2011 BMW M3, flagship vehicle of BMW, is still as magnificent as it was when the “M” was first introduced and this fourth generation M3 will give a run for its money to rivals such as the Lexus IS-F, Mercedes C63 AMG, and the Audi S4.

The 4.0 Liter V8 cranks out 414 horsepower at the 8,300 rpm while 296 pound-feet of torque is available at only 3,900 rpm. The M3’s engine is also the lightest V8 in the world and weighs less than the old M3’s inline six motor. The transmissions are available in either a close ration six-speed manual or a seven-speed M DCT (dual-clutch transmission). The M3 has always been recognized for its performance and the 2011 M3 does not disappoint. The 4.0 liter V8 launches the car from 0-60 mph in a cool 4.6 seconds. The car handles amazingly well and has a comfortable ride. The suspension settings can be changed thanks to the electronic damper control option allowing the driver to choose between comfort, normal, or sport settings.

Some of the minor changes BMW has made to the 2011 M3 are the LED taillights on the coupe and convertible. The M3 is available in three body styles which include the coupe, sedan, and the retractable hardtop convertible. Standard accessories include xenon headlights, key less entry and 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels with performance tires. For only $2,000 more, a competition package option can be added with better aerodynamics, an enhanced suspension, and a different wheel style that fills the fender wheel wells. The competition package is available in the sedan and coupe.

The 2011 BMW M3 has unchanged interior for the most part when compared to the 2010 model. Standard features for the interior include automatic climate control, HD radio, 10-speaker sound system, power adjustable seats with memory functions, and carbon fiber roof.

Like all the vehicles offered by BMW, the M3 receives all possible safety features like the standard full length side curtain airbags, stability control traction control, anti-lock brakes, and front seat side airbags.

The BMW M3’s specs are as follows:

Base Model starting at $55,400 – $67,050

Engine: 4.0 Liter V8

Fuel Economy – 14mpg/city & 20mpg/highway

Transmission: Six-speed manual/Seven-speed Automatic

I've been writing about cars for the last 8 years, but I've loved everything with an engine since I was a kid. I'll take the sound of high revving naturally aspirated engine over music, any day! Favorite Car: Porsche Cayman GT4
